Is this harmless or not

Hello Fellow Reefers,
Ok this is my good to spot for questions. I have this coral looking creature in my tank and I have seen a few of them. Is it a good thing or should I just get rid of it. I have seen this from tiny to the size you see it now. I hope this photo is clear enough. So any feedback on this creature would be appreciated. Thanks again everyone. @rmyvet

That is aptasia. Most prefer to rid their systems of it. They can be difficult to kill and remove, and they multiply like weeds. Do a search for solutions there are many including some chemical solutions and natural solutions, like some peppermint shrimp. Do some research and find the solution that works best for you.
