Is this ich or something else? Please help diagnose.

I've had these fish for about a week. They looked 100% at the store. They eat really well so far. Have been feeding mysis every other day. It started with the sixline. A few days later the dottyback started missing a part of the fin and now has some white blotches on him too. They are not like grains of sand, they are more like spots that are 1/8" wide. Please help with a diagnosis if you can! Thanks!

I can't see the white lesions very clearly, but the ones I can make out (on the dottyback's dorsal fin and the nose of the wrasse) look like ich to me. I have never had a fish with velvet disease, so not sure what the early stages of that look like.

The missing pieces of fins on the fish look like they are biting each other. I have never owned either of these species, but I see they are rated as aggressive (dottyback) and semi-aggressive (wrasse) on the Foster and Smith website. Their compatability chart recommends caution when keeping these fish together. That site also suggests plenty of hiding places for both of these fish, and I don't see much in that regard in the limited views of your aquarium. If you want to try to keep both fish together, adding some more structure for hidey-holes may help...

Good luck.
