Is this ich?

Could I get an ID on this picture? He's the only fish with outward signs, but I've got s blue hippo tang that's rubbing on rocks also. If it is, I don't have a good way to keep it fallow, so I'm thinking either copper or hypo. I know hypo is difficult to do, but which would be the least harmful on my system? Specifically my pod population that has really grown to an impressive population.

Thanks so much

Sorry to say, but the best (only real) way to get rid of ich is to allow the tank to go fallow for ~10 weeks. Copper will work in a fish only tank, but can be difficult to maintain at proper therapeutic levels, and will pretty much wipe out any and all inverts, including your pods, and decimate the bacterial filter (live rock)

Hyposalinity will slow down the ich life cycle, but won't really get rid of it. It is also very hard many fish.

Please read the Ich sticky for more info on how to successfully treat your system.

Copper readily adsorbs onto calcium carbonate. This makes keeping a therapeutic level nearly impossible in a set up tank. Also if you started with true live rock there will be die off of invertebrates which could lead to issues. Also it may make keeping any invertebrates (such as a CUC) impossible down the line.
