Is this normal behavior?

If this is normal awesome but this is my first tank and always thought Clowns were just slow little bobble along things.

They did this last night when I turned off the tank light for the first time. Except even faster and more erratic. It's fun to watch while their doing it and I'm glad they are moving out of their little corner they stay in since coming in to the tank. But I worry about them injuring themselves or jumping out of the tank. This is their 2nd day in the tank and they only really kept to the far right wall down in the front corner, under the power head along the wall, or behind the heater. Normally they also are within a few inches of each other never more then 6 inches apart unless doing this.

I have the 1mm pellet recommended by the LFS New Life Spectrum Thera +A +Garlic. They can't eat them normally because their mouths are too small for the pellets. So I crush 5 between 2 spoons and dump the dust in. They run around and peck up all the little particles so they are both eating. There was a strange vertical swimming behavior the first night and then a bit the next day. LFS said watch for heavy breathing which I'm not seeing.

Really hoping this is all normal and if so these are fun little critters.

Haha awesome. I just got a little worried when they were doing the speed runs and while it's only twice on the video they line up on the left and then charge in to the powerhead stream till they get close and then fly off in a random direction. First time in that video he went straight up. Don't want them getting flipped out of the water. Was also worried that may be too much for their little finns to handle being little babies. I thought they were gonna be nice slow little bobblers that would sit in an nem. Not little daredevils.

I've got 3 in quarantine and they seem to have transformed into furniture unless some one is around, then they bobble around looking for food

Well unfortunately I'm trying to save mine tonight. There was a short power failure and while it shouldn't have done anything the clowns behavior was pretty messed up. So I'm not sure if I have a bigger problem going on and this just compounded it or what. But I have the little guy's in a 5g bucket with 3g of saltwater I was going to use for their water change tomorrow. But what I'll really be doing is going to the store and getting a full display WC worth of water. We'll see.

What's the tank size? Is that a Voyager 2 or 3 powerhead? I recommend a sicce wave surfer and utilizing the feeding mode with an automated feeder. You set it once and it goes into a feed mode same time every day. Depending on what size tank and Voyager you might need to turn down your flow a little bit.

Is this normal behavior?

Otherwise the clowns behavior is normal in both videos. What went wrong with the tank that they are in a bucket now? The clowns are hardy and if water parameters good, there's no stray voltage in the tank they should be ok in the tank.

Yeah dunno. When I got home one was doing slow laps around the tank against the walls. Other was sitting on the bottom not really moving. Put them in the bucket and they perked up again. Put them in the display and they were shortly not moving right again. I have the Voyager 2 and generally I have it pointed at the surface and down one notch so it's not going full power in the tank. It creates nice flow but not super huge.

The power went out for ab out an hour and had no flow in the tank. I fear they were O2 deprived.

Test for ammonia.
Also might want to get a grounding probe. Just in case there is any stray current.
Or just wait it out.

Yeah they stayed in the bucket till morning. Putting them back in the display tank they are fine now but they are doing the territorial fight thing. Took several water samples to the LFS just to check incase mine was showing 0s when there really was Ammonia. Nope LFS water parameters all came back good. What the guess is while the cycle is technically done, I'm probably one step under a bacterial bloom. So the bacteria are still trying to reach an equilibrium and using a lot of o2 out of the water column. It's the only thing that fits what has happened and the recovery. They think if it was a bit older of a tank then it would have been completely fine as things would be even more in balance. But ohh well. I have them on the battery system now and with the tank running it doesn't even register the draw of the heater, pump, and light. But I only have the heater and pump on there so should be fine.
