i have had my bulb tip anemone in my tank for a little over 3 weeks.. and my marron clown started to host him within 30 min. during the day he is pefect and his tenticals are nice and full, and at night when its around 7pm he releases this sticking clear looking stuff that has bubbles in it. i have no idea what it is or why and then he goes from about 8inches to 2 inches and his tenticals just kinda hang there. and the clown still sticks around. so im just wondering if this is normal because during the day he looks completly normal. i am running a PC 150 watts in a 37 gallon tank. i hope you guys can help! i will try to post pics of him but i have yet to figure it out..thanks!!

In technical terms, "he's taking a poop!"

Normal to shrink at night. But watch its color if it is every night it could be bleaching, but likely just waste. Are you feeding it already?

he takes a poop everyday?! i do feed him so i dont think thats the problem..i was thinking maybe i would feed him to much because sometimes he doesnt eat it so i dont know..another thing what do you guys mean by bleaching?? thanks!

How much are you feeding him? Sounds like you are over feeding.

Bleached means loss of zooxanthellae. It is an algae that lives inside of them that gives them the color. If it was bleached it would be much lighter, or even bright white. Search the forum you will find many pics of bleached anemones.

ya at first i think i was over feeding him..but he was eating everytime i put some food near him..but the last time he actually just spit it out so im going to go back to every few days...thanks guys!
