Is this normal growth?

About a month ago I purchased my first clam. It seems to be doing very well. However, when one of the fish swam over the clam and it closed, I noticed new white growth on the shell. I'm hoping its just normal shell growth, but it seems much more fluted than the rest of the shell. It is only visible when the clam closes, ordinarily it is completly covered by the mantle. I just checked calcium today and its at 390. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
