Is this normal?

So finally we were able to buy a good lighting system for our tank, but here's the thing, ever since we turned them on the fish have been hiding? Its been 2 days now and they still won't come out.

Is this normal?

Was it a drastic change in lighting? Once they get comfortable with the new environment then they should come back out.

Do you have any coral? if so you may need to acclimate them to the new lighting. Good luck

Thanks gone fishin, we do have corals and they all seem fine. We followed the manufactures instructions and started them out at 50% power so not to shock the system to much.

Fish often shelter during the white phase of LED lighting. But do observe your corals closely during this break-in period.

What kind of lighting? LEDs? T5s? MH? and are you able to dim the lights? When adding new coral or fish I will usually dim the lights the first day and slowly increase them throughout the week.

They are LED lights, we did dim them all the way down to only 50%. We upped it a bit today. 2 of our fish are still hiding. Thanks for the tip.
