Is this normal?

If it is getting enough light and satisfactory water circulation it could stay where it is. If you are okay with it being in that position, then it won't hurt anything. Have you started to feed it (sorry if you've mentioned this earlier in the thread, I didn't read every post)?

I don't think it is getting enough light or circulation since it is in the upper corner of my tank (see 1st pic in post). The lock line returns are pointed away from that corner, and the powerhead directly above the anemone is turned off. I have tried to spot feed it a little brine shrimp and fresh scallop (was actually trying to feed the clowns) and I dose a little bit of photoplankton every few days in my tank.

Not being that experienced with anemones in general, I would hate to move it and damage its foot. Also, wouldn't the anemone move on its own if it were not getting enough light or flow?

Yeah, eventually it will move I expect if it's not getting enough light. They like silverside, squid, table shrimp too.

thanks Gary, I think I will not try to move him. I will also pickup some silversides. I really appreciate your informed, quick response.

I will post some more pics, if he moves

Do keep any powerheads covered to prevent the anemone getting sucked in if/when it decides to move. Look forward to the pics. Looks like a healthy BTA.

On Karen's Rose Anemones.com she discusses ways to do this. For some powerheads a simple sponge filter will do the trick.

If it was in my tank I would move it. If done carefully it won't cause it any problems. It should now have fullt acclimated to your tank and will possibly be more settled where you position it. Who wants a nem on there glass?
