Is this ok?

Yesterday I received H. magnifica in the mail, for a magnifica that had been shipped it looked pretty good, better than the other one I first got. Today the mouth was/is shut tight and he is opened up reaching for the sky. I did notice this that Ive never noticed on my other one, the anemone inflates, and for a split second, a section of his tentacles, like 1/8 will deflate, than re inflate. Then a little time will go by and another section will deflate, than reinflate. Is that ok? He has not moved from the original spot I put him in 36 hours ago. I have two loc lines directing flow right over his oral disk, and hes maybe 10'' from a 250 watt metal halide pendent. Hes right under the direct light.

Thanks.

He might just be exchanging water. My bubble tips do this all the time.I did notice this with my old Ritteri when I first put him in.

Thats what I figured. I also noticed today my occelaris clown poking at his mouth. Why is he doing this? The mouth is still closed tight.

Ocellaris and Skunk complex seem to love picking at the mouth and sticking their heads in there to.I dont think anyone knows why really?

Well I think it could be.I dont worrie about it till I see the anemone jult real ast. When I see that I begin to feed the clownfish and also feed the anemone a little to see if he eats. But to answer your question really it just depends!

I wait till the anemone has settled down and hasnt moved for a week. After that I offer about 6 mysis shrimp to see if the anemone takes to the food.If he does I will offer just a bit more to see if he will eat the full meal.I wont feed for a while till I see the anemone carring out an anemones normal functions after I fed him the first time!
