Is this pinched mantle??

I've had this clam for almost 2 years and it has always been a pictue of health. But last night it looked wierd and then looked better but today I'm wondering if it's pinched mantle. It is not the PC lighting, IT is only 11inches deep and has grown like a weed. I changed 1/2 the bulbs 3 weeks ago. This is something that happened suddenly. I did add Kent Marine Liquid Reactor the night before. My cal was 340. I'm wondering if it's that. But I've heard that Croceas are more proned to pinched mantle than other clams and nobody knows why. Does this look like it, or do you think it may be a reaction to the Liquid Reactor?

is there a pic?

and

list your fish / inverts, water params and anything you dose and when and how, please :)

Sorry.

The clam does look like it is bleaching. I'm not thinking it is pm.
What fish and inverts do you have?

I've only seen one fish ever pick on it ,even slightly and he was out of there the same week. That was months ago. No fish even go near it. My cal. has been low, 340 to 360 and I just started adding Kent marine, Liquid Reactor" I'm hoping it's just a tempoary side effect from this. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't PM. Thanks guys for all your input. I appreciate it, Brian

Unless you are dosing some sort of alkalinity agent along with the liquid reactor, your alk will drop as the calcium increases. The decreasing alk could be stressing the clam a bit.

can you post a pic of the clam when you purchased it so we can compare it to now? Light deprivation affects clams over time and not right away. Your clam looks bleached and seems to be reaching for more light.

I dont think theres enough light in the tank for the clam. How high do you have your clam in your tank.

It was 11 inches deep and the lights rest directly on the tank. I just raised it up another 2 inches. I think I'm gonna replace one of my PC's, The one directly over the clam with T-5's. Does anyone have a good reasonably priced source to reccomend?
I guess I will need a 48 inch 2 bulb light. They come in 54 watt bulbs. So you guys think that this is better than my 2-65 watt PC's. Will the 22 watts less still be better? I really appreciate all your help guys. I'd hate to lose this clam.

OK, So now I'm getting pretty excited about getting T-5's. I'm keeping my 260 watt PC light also but I'm putting the T-5 Directly over the clam. I saw one 48 inch 2 light system for about $140.00. They have 1-10,000 k and 1 actinic bulb in it. I'm hoping I can set this light directly on the tank as I do my PC"s. The clam is only about 9-1/2 inches deep. Is this a good price or do you guys know of a better deal?

That sounds pretty good. The output from the t5s is much more intense than the pc's even thought they're 108 watts. You would probably be better off with two daylight bulbs the the t5 fixture instead of one actinic.
