Is this purple monster dead?

I acquired this beautiful purple monster frag about 2 weeks ago and it was doing great until over night it turned green. My guess is light shock because I'm running a shallow tank with all sps and a 250w halide sitting about 17in above the water. This has never happened before but I don't know why it's turned green? Is he dead?

I don't see how it's possible for it to die and get completely covered in algae in one night. if it died in one night the next day it should be bright white.

Sometimes acropora gets colonized by an algea that grows on the skeleton, under the flesh.. then the acro dies and the remaining skeleton is green.
I agree, the frag didn't look to be in top shape in the alive shot.. tough to see well in the pic, however..

Sorry about your loss, A. logicyanthus/ purple monster is a very tough species to keep happy.
