is this purple monster ?

If they are represented as such I would think so. I have heard nothing but good things about the corals Atlantis sells as far as being true to what is advertised.

Well, to be honest with you I bought a "blue mille" about 3 weeks ago. If you looked at the pic the coral was absolutely blue and gorgeous.
When I received it, the coral was really pale, with just a little bit of blue on the upper parts. That coral really dissapointed me and it had absolutely nothing to do against the way it looked in the pic.
Today the coral looks blueish in the upper part, but I´m still dissapointed.
BTW, I´m running 400w radiums with HQI PFO ballasts.
The PM is nice, too small but I hope it turns purple over time as it is brownish right now ("purpler" than when I received it).

Not PM. Pm has xmas tree like growth and white polyps. I believe PM is also a valida, not sure though. What makes PM unique is the shape, color, and its slow growth.

The Atlantis PM is not the same as the LE PM. I have both, they are both very nice. You can not go wrong with Mings stuff.

Just went on the Atlantis website. Look like the real PM. I was referring to the Atlantis PM. If Ming says this is original, I would believe it. As I said, you can't go wrong buying from them. Pricy, but worth it.

If its only been three weeks in your tank, give it some time (a few months) for it to color back up. Acros can lose a lot of their color in the shipping.
But then again, it might not color up again from other factors besides your lighting.

seems similiar to this recent colony I purchased;

This was how it looked when I bought it: http://www.d3f.org/misc/fish/90g/79-newacro.jpg

The one from atlantis is the real deal, they have the "real PM" and the slightly cheaper "atlantis PM" I got mine from them and I was satisfied. They say under 1 inch for $100. mine was just a hair under an inch. (edit) opp...just went to the site to see if they had anything new & I see they changed the price and size... sorry guys.
