Looks like it. Manual removal is pretty much the only gaurenteed way. Emerald crab may pick at it, but will not eliminate it.

It grows from excess nutrients in the water. Test for nitrates and phosphates. Use RO water, dont over feed, perform water changes regularly, run GFO in a phosban reactor, these are just some of the things that can help keep it under control. Unfortunately it happens, just got to do your best to get rid of it.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I think this stuff is really gorgeous. It's a lovely color. It gets these cool orangsih spots. I suppose if it were taking over my tank, I might feel differently. There are lots of macros that get a bad rap. Some, of course, are a downright scourge (for example, Bryopsis, Valonia, Gelidiopsis and Derbesia). If it's not dominating your tank, I would suggest leaving it be, or harvesting offending amounts. Then again, I'm a voice crying in the wilderness. I like macros, despite our well earned hobbyist bias.

If it's taking over your tank, I am sorry. Manual removal is not difficult with this one, however. It's very soft, easily removed and in my limited experience, not a fast growing macro. Best of luck.

It does have a nice color to it expecially under the actinics lol.. if it gets to bad ill probably start taking it out but its not to bad as of right now.. thanks for the replys!
