Is this some kind of Algae??

Recently found this weird stuff growing in the back chambers of my Biocube. I am not sure what it is! At first i thought it was Aipstasia but now I dont think so.

Its like a root almost. Thickish, clearish, barbed, & grows in very weird patches on the wall.

Help please???

It's just a kind of sponge. I have it in my tank and so do all my friends with tanks. It's completely harmless.

+1, definitely a sponge. Beneficial filter feeder, good thing to have.

+1 also I have them too they get more spongy once they mature and grow bigger I think they like low light cuz they are only in areas of my sump and plumbing that don't get a lot of light and no where in the DT.
