Is this starfish laying eggs??

what is starfish doing? I've had tank over 8 years now I've never seen anything like it.

that thing on the front glass? looks like asterina (?). from what i understand is that they reproduce asexually. what's all that brown stuff?

On the sand in picture it doesn't look same color as in tank it's purple algae and if it's the lil starfish I guess that is the kind it is but if it's the brown spiky things idk what they are lol

its asterina..a lot of folk on here freak out about those lil starfish...i wouldnt worry if i were you...if the population gets out of hand, you can physically remove them...or get one of those starfish eating shrimps...bongoshrimp on here is a wealth of knowlege about starfish eating shrimp...i had a population explosion of them a few years ago and then they declined to zero...i wouldnt worry about them.
