Is this STN at the encrusting base of my acro? Not sure what to do! (PIC)

This was one of my best encrusting acros, the thin sheet encrustment is showing signs of STN (I THINK). Should I snap it off the encrusting base and remount or can it recover? From experience I don't think iv'e ever saved an SPS that was STNing, never had one recover and the second I see white it usually spells a death sentence. I'm just worried because I really like this one and would love to save it if I can.

Hi mate im having a similar problem what I have found with STN is if you keep your eye on the big 3 DKH mag cal and try to keep the tank stable as possible they do recover my purple stag had STN and is slowly getting better so I believe In my case anyway it's possible good luck

STN is recoverable, RTN is not. Former is usually either parameters or light IME. I'd snap off a frag just in case and look for the cause.

I keep my alk at 7.4, testing frequently. Mag is 1300 and calc is 420; I think what caused it was my po4 jumped up to 0.08. I assume running low alk with high nutrients is a bad thing. I dose prodibio and always had very low nutrient levels so I'm not sure how my phosphates got so high I'll need to check them more regularly. I put a gfo reactor in with high-capacity stuff from reef supply now my numbers are 0.02.
