Is this true...?

Coral Beauty; my LFS guy suggested Sally's frozen angel and butterfly formula. I currently have Emerald Entree which is recommended for pygmy angels (says on back of package, anyway), but I read ingredient list and no sponge listed. Also, is there a flake food with sponge in it? I like to alternate frozen and flake. I would rather be able to feed a universal food to everyone in my tank (tomato clown, orange spot goby, cross' damsel, mimic tang, p.j. cardinal) rather than a specific angel food and one for everyone else, if I can help it. Thanks all!

Coral Beauties are not anls are bu t almost all need some kind of frozen food with algae and or sponges in it at some time but alot will eat flake also as a fill in between frozen

Not even an urban legand that's insane;your water parameters should be devastated if you use sponges as fish food( only with some special angel genus like diacanthus you have to offer some sponges)

Why would this be?

This is wholly unecessary for this species--or really any of the Centropyge for that matter, although they may browse upon it (just as many do coral). Examples that NEED sponges are Pygoplites diacanthus and Holocanthus tricolor.

not sure exactly what you are saying, but are you saying coral beauties are NOT angels? i'm pretty sure they are dwarf angels.

Huh??? There are all kinds of angel formula with sponge in it and all kinds of sponge species will grow in a reef tank with no ill effects.

Exactly!
