I bought it used with a few other things.. Im trying to figure out if it is complete or missing pieces. I am not familiar with Tunze skimmers.. Ive never owned one before.

The bottom is hollow which led me to believe that something was missing..

Unless you omitted it from the photo you need part 9010.200 to cover the pump at the bottom and four suction cups for this piece-3060.440.

Ok. I believe that I accidentally threw out the suction cups thinking that they were from a maxi jet powerhead... thats minor. The base of the unit I do not see.. everything you see pictured is what I received. I will go through the box of misc parts again.. Thanks for the help!!

That website is a joy. Everything is in Euros.. and there is no clear information about how to order anything.

1 Euro = 1.3556 U.S. dollars so I assume that the missing cover is 7.96 Euros and not 796 Euros as it says on the website.

Fortunately, on www.tunze.com there is a US phone number. Ill give a call later after I double-check at home (now that I know what im looking for). Thanks again for the help!!

If you are seeing prices in Euros you might have skipped the select your country section, everything will be in US dollars if you select United States on the home page- www.tunze.com.

I think there is something else missing in the top. I saw a pic of a new unit and it looked like there was something inside the top. My top also fits loosely...

Im going to snap another pic.

Heres a pic of the top view of the unit. It looks hollow inside... granted, the pump is not inside it but other than that it looks like an empty canister.

The top also drops in all the way and fits loosely. Im sure that there should be something to hold it in place..

The top clips on, nothing is missing but the clip is difficult to figure out at first, two tabs slide into the back, two in the front sides and one in the middle, the middle one clicks over the front and secures it all in place. You basically have to put the top on withit forward by about 1/4", then slide it back and press forward on the front wall while pushing back on the top until you here a click.

Ok. Im sorry to be posting all of this but Ive never owned one of these skimmers. I got it in a deal with a complete setup I bought. So the base is about $10 and I didnt price the suction cups but they arent a big deal.

I looked at a pic of a new one and it showed a side-mount bracket to hang it on the back of a tank or sump. I guess Im missing that too.

I may not end up using the skimmer. It is small. If I were to get the missing pieces and resell it (cleaned up of course) what would it be worth used?

You really wouldn't need anything else for in sump use besides the base plate, for in tank I would use a mag holder like 6080.500 and forget the holder set. Value is relative, a new model is coming at months end and will further reduce the value. My guess would be roughly $200 with the base plate, there are alot of people leaving the hobby with the economy as it is so that factors in, I would guess on eBay you could get $150-$250 if you had all parts and it worked. It should easily handle a 120 or less mixed reef, 90 all SPS or a 180+ fish only or FOWLR. For it's size it is a pretty darn good skimmer. This is one of my favorite models, it works well and is easy to use and will generally last a long time.

wow.. By looking at it, I assumed it would be for up to a 90G or so..

Ive asked the person I bought it from to take a look around. It looks like $12 or so worth of parts so its not a big deal either way..

Thanks for all your help.
