Hello,

Today I saw some little white stuff floating at the surface of the water, I have added some pics, can someone confirm me is this is what everybody call white spots ?? :hmm3:

My tank is 12 days old with uncured live rock and some invert, worms and one barnacle (all coming with liverock).

Pics added.

I doubt it, while Ick can attach itself to glass, rocks or any substrate, to do it's nasty dividing trick...it's a fish only parasite..... Without fish it will die....by the time you are cycled, it's cycle would have been broken anyways...

not ich (white spots)..

Not sure whats in the tank but it could be spirorbid worms or asternia stars or sponges (pineapple,etc..) or snail eggs.. maybe even some coralline algae
The pics are a bit fuzzy.. but looks like spirorbid worms to me from here..

Is it free swimming or just floating dead stuff?

No it was just floating at the surface, very strange, I have removed all the visible part already and I could not understand what is this by watching them more closely. :crazy1:

Its definitely not ich (white spots). Ich on its own is not visible with the naked eye. The white spots that you normally see on the fish itself is usually the fish's body reaction to the parasite and not the parasite itself.
