Like the title says . . . hoping to build up the microfauna and cryptic filtration life in my new system.

pm or post, thanks!

Cool!!
I have a 25 gallon cryptic. I have had a hard time finding creatures (without paying through the nose).
What are your plans?

Starting my new system and have a few areas for the rocks to live:
1. display - real reef shelf rock aquascape
2. sump - lots of Fiji base rock in high flow
3. old nitrate reactor - filled with rubble, low o2 & low flow
4. cryptic - no light 30g container filled with rock to home lots of interesting filter life.

Probably a refugium with ulva to home a healthy pod population.

I wish, I have about 5 that were growing on the bottom of some live rocks and I refuse to buy a couple pebbles from Tyree for $100++

not sure I could have said it better my self . . hoping some of The Bay Area Reefers will come through.

I did find a place that was selling some really cool sponges. but then again they are not really cheap.

Thanks Daddi0, great link.

It is my understanding that the encrusting sponges are the more preferable for this use . . . the finger type less so.

They aren't cheap. There must be some local reefers with tanks teaming with sponges ready to make a little money to feed their hobby and share the diversity increasing the stability.

Will bump this for the next few weeks, if nothing comes . . . a Tyree order will need to happen. Really curious what his package will look like.

happy Friday all :hb2:

I can give you some feather duster and few types of sponges to seed your tank.
If your water is right the sponges will take off.

Pm me

I probably have some tiny feather dusters and pineapple sponge on some of my rock that could give to you if interested. I'm in Pleasanton.

Where are you located?

Would colonial tunicates work?

I've got a 3" or so disk with two distinct colonies on it, one is bubblegum pink, one is a deep plum/burgundy color. Might not spread super fast, but excellent filter feeders, and very handsome.
