I wanted to try and isolate the raw water from the display so my skimmer would work better at removing crap from the water. My sump is a 100 gallon rubbermaid stock tub. Since its so hard to divide i was thinking of having the overflow drain go into a bucket then have the inlet of the skimmer pump get fed from the water inside that bucket. I was thinking of having extra holes so some water from the rest of the sump can make it in there because theres not enough water from just the overflow. The return would be on the opposite side of the rubbermaid as the skimmer pump is. I dont know how well it would work but any suggestions would really help. Maybe someone has a better idea? Thanks.
