I currently have a Longnose Hawk and a Royal Gramma in my 28g Nano and am adding a small Percula Clown to the tank now that QT is over. I placed him in the tank in an isolation container for now so that the other fish (specifically the Hawk) get used to him. How long should he stay in there until I release him? Are there signs to look for?
The first day he was in there (Sunday) the Hawk had his fins in an aggressive posture for a few hours wherever he was in the tank. Then he started to get close to the box and started darting a little bit. That stopped after about an hour. Now (3 days later) the Hawk seems normal (to me) and even comes up and stands on the box grills with no standing fins. Should it be ok to release the clown into the tank now? Maybe at night when lights are off?
Thanks
