Issue with a 6101

I have 4 stream 6101's. (since 4-2-2008) One of them only spins for a short while and then stops... then later, it will try to spin up again and stop. I unplug it, plug it back in.. it will run for a short while again (maybe 20 secs) and then stop.

I tried swapping power supplies from the other 3 streams that work properly, but only the same result.

I did a vinegar bath and scrubbed the inside of the motor and the impeller magnet with a toothbrush (not much build-up, but i cleaned it anyway).... and the pump still has the same issue.

On another note... i have two 6100s in another tank that have been going strong w/o issue for years. (testament to a great product)... so i think this 6101 i am having trouble with is just a rare problem.

Please advise.

I've been running the replaced motor for about 3-4wks now and it is fine

now a 2nd 6101 is having the same problem

i bought 4 of these all at once... now that another is having trouble, is it a safe bet to say i should send the remaining 3 to you guys for replacement?

There is no way to know if the other 2 will fail and we cannot replace them for no reason. Send in the other pump and we will get it taken care of.

the one you fixed/replaced has been working flawlessly
