Issue with Bubble Magus Doser

Greetings PA,

I just received the bubble magus doser kit from you yesterday. I got it all setup. I'm having an issue with between cycles on my doser where the inlet side is losing siphon so all the fluid is just going back into the BM containers that were provided in the kit. In reading around the internet I found the solution to be put cheap air line check valves. Is this true being that the system is brand new? I'm curios as to why others don't have this issue.

Thanks,
Nick

Hi Ncik, sorry to hear about the issues you are having. It sounds like the rollers are not pinching the tubing all the way and this is the cause. Unfortunately this is a lot more common with a cheaper Chinese doser such as this than what it sthe higher end units on the market such as the Vertex Libra or Spectrapure Litermeter.

I would suggest pulling the dosing head off and fully take it apart and reassemble. It may not have been all seated correctly from the factory and I've had this solve a few of these issues in the past. If that doesn't fix it let me know and I'll contact the US distributor to have a replacement head sent out to you.

Just one other note, you might check your airline connection on the suction side right at the little barb fitting at the pump head. If there is an air leak here then it would lose prime and fall back down into your dosing container.

Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for the reply. I figured it had something to do with the line not being pinched. Unfortunately all the pump heads are doing this same thing. I took off the airline and reseated everything, but still the same issue. I will try taking the pump head motors apart and reseating the tubing if possible.

I have read that this can be fixed with air line check valves. Have you heard of this before? If so I was going to go buy some today and put them on the inlet side.

Thank you,
Nick

It can be fixed with check valves but you're putting a band-aid on the problem, it shouldn't be doing that. One other thing I just though about, are your storage containers vented?

I'm using the ones that came in the kit I ordered. They are the seaside ones. I left the tape on them so the lid will stay down. Is that what I'm supposed to do? I took a pump head apart and still no dice.

Hi Jeremy,

Well I got it figured out. The problem was with the rigid tubing that goes into the seaside container lid. They didn't glue the rigid tubing from the factory which cause air and it to lose siphon. I took the rigid tube out and super glued them back in. So far no more back siphoning.

I figured I would let you know in case you have any other customers with this issue.

Thanks again,
Nick

Glad to hear you got it figured out. Thanks for the heads up on it in case I come across anyone else with the same issue, appreciate it!
