Issues with Tangs...

Well I recently lost my blue hippo tang. I thought it was ich that was getting out of hand and went south. But now the powder brown tang is getting the same thing! I'm not sure what it is. They start off with white bumps, which i figured was ich. Then after two days it goes away and the eyes glaze over a bit. They start to act strange by hiding in corners and swimming in strange patterns. Then they lost their color (black went to grey, the power tang is losing the brown to whitish). Looks like fading. They also are eating the whole time, but at getting extremely thin. The other fish start to nip at the tails and fins.

Any idea on to what is going on?!? Is this a stress issue?!

Ich can be a deadly parasite, don't take it lightly.. Tangs are especially vulnerable. I'd suggest you read all the ich stickies at the stop of this section of the forum. then, decide on a treatment method, get a QT, and let us help you through it. Ich will ruin this hobby for you if you don't understand and treat it.

The three symptoms can be connected to ich and flukes. Read up as stated to verify and treat your remaining fish.

I was to late, the powder tang passed. I think I'm going to QT the remaining fish and take them out of the take for 8 weeks as recommended.

That is a good idea. Based on the speed of demise, are you sure it is ich and not velvet?
