Looks great man! So when is the big move? :)

Just out of curiosity, what kind of flooring is this going on? What color? I only ask because I wonder about color matching myself. I already made my choice but wonder if it was the right one. Not sure how natural maple furniture will look on my oak floors.

big move is coming in a few weeks probably....rock is cured and ready just final assembly of parts and pieces left....as for the floor...it was initially going on my wood floor in my foyer however the stand in order to look right had to get larger and now cannot fit there. so now it must go on the carpeted floor of my home office.. not crazy about putting it on carpet but hey what do you do I will just have to be 100% certain that overflow due to power outages don't happen (maybe a backflow preventer on the return line?)....anyway the office location does allow me to put this thing on a load bearing masonry wall that was not available in the foyer so that is a major plus in my eyes...anyway matching the floor didn't come into play...at first I tried to match the doors and trim in the house but went through 7 different stain colors and never found a match so I went a totally different direction....

Well I have finished the stand and have set the tank up in the garage filled it up with fresh water just to test all the equipment and plumbing....so what do you think????

very neat.... I ment to compliment you on the stand especially the way you ran your outlets. what did u use for the panels in the sump and where did u get it?

Looks great.

What are you planning to run for substrate if any and what is your thoughts on a filter sock?

Thanks guys.

Taz the panels are 1/8" plate glass from a glass shop in Clarksburg (the cheapest place I found them...

Carb No substrate in the tank only in the refugium..as for the sock I am thinkin not as they tend to hold alot of junk without regular cleaning.....

Well I have moved the tank and stand inside now to it's final resting place and have installed the sump, skimmer, retrun pump and have re-plumbed the drain. Will start adding water and moving rock ASAP also have a Phos reactor to install as well as the powerheads. I then plan on giving the tank a good week to see it there will be any cycling effect (even though the rock has been curring for about 6 months in a trash can) prior to moving the fish and corals that I have in my 38. What are your thoughts?

build a hood to match the stand and cover up the top frame and light that are different color to the stand,

thanks mary I have been thinking about that....however I have been wondering how much difficulty it would be to deal with during water changes and cleanings???

I'm with Steve, I like the look of the hood as is. I would only do the canopy if the light is a nuisance in that room.

Looks great btw. Did you decide on a substrate?

thanks...I am pretty happy with it...it was my first project of this size and detail.....next.....bathroom vanity....

Carb I haven't decided on the substrate yet but if I do go with one I believe black will be the color...I may hate it and if I do I will take it out....
