It is a Acropora millepora

It is a Acropora millepora. I'm having a hard time with polyp extension on my milopora.(like there is none!!) All other corals are looking good and have good PE and color.. All parameters on the tank are nice and solid so I was thinking it could quite possibly be a parasite of some sort. I was reading on another thread of someone else. they were having trouble with a milly and someone had suggested dipping the coral. Does anyone out there think this is a good idea? And if so, Last time I was at a club meeting there was a lady who said she freshwater dipped her SPS corals. There was also another gentleman who said he made an iodine and salt water solution to rid his corals of any parasites. Does anyone have any experience doing either of these?

Coral has been in tank 6-weeks no PE, but the color is actually getting alittle better.

System up and running 8 months
Tank/sump Volume 110 gal.
Brightwell Aquatics NEOZEO method
S.g. : 1.021
Alk. : 8-9
Cal. : 480-500
Mag. : 1020 (lower than usual)
Phos. : None
Na: None

Bring your Mag up to at least 1300, salinity up just a little, and work on lowering your calcium to about 450.
Give that a try for a couple weeks see how it goes.

I would increase your SG to 1.026, mag at 1300+ and since you are using NEOZEO keep your alk at 7-8, cal 450. I had a problem with one of my mille's when my salinity dropped down to 1.021 from an improperly calibrated refractometer.

Nice (JAMEs404) thanks for the info,(just the first hand experience I was lookin for) I was keeping my salinity a little low, because I have a black tang and a powder blue that broke out with ick ( LFS dude advised) me keep salinity low will, and this will help with fish diseases (ie ick) seemed to have worked "œfish are better". I have been trying to raise the mag. Aqua Medic little plastic wheel thing that pushes liquid out (mag) broke, that's why magnesium dropped. Once again thank you The tanks salinity has always been low will start to bring it up slowly. Will let everyone know how it goes.
