It is time to try something new

I'm going to take down the light mover tomorrow and replace it with the Solar Revolution circular mover. I'm going to use 2 lumenarc III reflector handled by dual HQI ballast blue wave VII 400w using Ushio 10k and Reef flux 10K. I will post some pix tomorrow. Here is some info on the Solar revolution

The patent-pending Solar Revolutionâ"žÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬"designed and manufactured by AHLâ€"is a state of the art, low profile circular light mover that can rotate one to four grow lights. Our unique design allows the gardener to add capacity as needed-the standard unit will rotate one or two lights, while the simple addition of cross bars allows the unit to rotate up to four lights without having to buy a whole new rotator. Another Solar Revolutionâ"žÂ¢ benefit is that there is no need to cut any lamp cord or do any hard wiring. Our new-age design rotates the lamp(s) 355° in one direction, then reverses course to provide even garden light coverage.

The Solar Revolutionâ"žÂ¢ is extremely durable and is crafted from only the finest materials. From high stress bearings and instrument grade motors, to all-metal housing and aluminum arms, nothing was overlooked in the quest for reliable performance. Each and every unit is hand built and factory tested before leaving our shop to ensure consistent quality and trouble free operation. AHL offers a two year warranty on the Solar Revolutionâ"žÂ¢.

GSM, Thanks for the compliment. I try to make a video but it doesn't work when i try to load it into my photobucket. It look awesome in person. I'm not worry about shade spot anymore :).

Pretty sweet. I was going to mention that a while back when I first saw your tank 714... but I thought to myseld 'nah, the last thing he would want to hear is how I think some other type of rotating light-mobile might work for him'...lol.

What kind was your old light rail? I am in the market... prolly going to go with a Gualala 3.5 ...

Hahnmeister, i really enjoy the circular motion. My light mover work very well but i still have shade spot. With this technique, i have light all around the tank. Oh so you were keeping secret from me :). I am very open to opinion, it is good to hear from fellow reefer.

My light mover motor made by intelli. it is very quiet and and reliable, small foot print. Snipersps suppose to pick up the mover from me but i haven't heard from him yet.

I did some research, but havent seen/heard that brand. Ill have to check it out, thanks. So far, the Gualala light rail 3.5 that F&S sells for $150 has had my attention.... but we will see.

Wait a second... after more research... I think that the motor on the Gualala light rail 3.5 is called intelli, but otherwise we are both talking about the same thing.

I think it is the same. who sell it for 150? That is cheap, i paid 200 bucks for mine. How big is your new tank? 48X30? You can have my 4f rail if you just buy the motor. Hugo don't need the rail cuz he needs to buy longer rail for his 8f tank. Let me know if you want to pick it up.....
