i'm in mountain view, so it wasn't quite as hot as it got down in south san jose...but with a fan going all day my tank stayed between 80-81

83. No chiller.

Spoke too soon...was still on the way up.
84.2... peak. Not too good. I've lots of fans but nothing to bring it down as low as some have mentioned.

Some people re-use 2 liter bottles and freeze water in it. and just place it back into your freezer when not in use... I remember LFS using this trick too.

yup, when the really hot weather kicks in, I do the same thing

my frag tank currently sits in a basement under my house (the basement is actually the entire footprint of my house, 7 feet tall), and it's never over 65 degrees down there, even during 100 degree weather. sweet =) I'm going to be plumbing my chiller in the basement for my 68g that'll be in the living room upstairs. That should make it super efficient.

You guys should come over to Sactown and cool off.....its was nice here today.

I overlook Folsom Lake at work......it was busy there today.

You still didn't answer the question that the thread originated with, so I am not sure of the purpose of your post.

I don't know what our chiller set point was yesterday (ACJr using the seasonal temp settings) but I did notice that the tank spiked at 78 late in the afternoon (With the setting sun baking that side of the house). It is supposed to be up to 98 again today, according to weather.com. I still need to put up a new, more permanent awning over our cooler.. I can tell that it looses efficiency in the afternoon, once the sun starts hitting it full on.

I forgot to turn on the house AC when I left today :( .. Hopefully, it's not any hotter than yesterday.

In Mountain View...

Tank lingers around 82 degrees... I have my MH running for 8 hours a day... I use the "floating the ice cubes in a zip lock bag" method.
