It's Alive Reef Bugs

Anyone has used this product ? its called "Its alive reef bugs" comes in a plastic bag with some white and brown dust like particles. Supposedly has a lot of eggs from pods etc. sells for $ 18.99 at the LFS. SOMEHOW EVERYTHING IS 19.99 LOL

Well for starters, you'd be far better off getting a refugium and stocking that so that you have a constant source of pods and whatnot in the tank. Otherwise any additions like this are only going to get eaten or skimmed out quickly. It's alive...are what commonly reffered to as "marine snow". Just little critters that catch a ride on whatever particulate matter they can and free float through the water column. Our tanks do not support enough phytoplankton and similar to keep these around for any real length of time. If you don't mind spending $18.99 every month or two for more of them, than yeah, should be good for the tank....a fuge would work better though IMO

I'm afraid to ask if you mean for your livestock to eat them or for you to.
I would not feed anything to my fish unless I try it first ! Actually there's many people here that add Coraline algae to there salad. My favorite is Cyclope Ez in little salt crackers, better than caviar!!! mmm got that recipe from waterkeeper.:smokin:

o-agios, you'll be better off getting pods for a refugium to feed a mandarin than trying to feed him on "it's alive" bugs. Those things as mentioned are going to be more free floating in the water column, while the mandarin is down in the substrate and over the rocks looking specifically for coepods and amphipods.
I'd imagine the It's Alive stuff would work better as an occasional supplementation for planktonic feeding corals and filter feeders vs. dragonettes.
