On the minus side, I seem to be unable to keep my hand with the open cut out of my tank, even while scraping algae. On the plus side, I clearly don't have a stray voltage issue as submerged skinless areas are excellent biological stray voltage testers. Don't try this at home! Don't be fragging palys like that either!
On the minus side, I have this wide, thick of band of coraline algae growing up my glass from the sandbed. I mean much wider than average. It certainly can't be that I've been slacking on scraping. Ok, maybe a tiny bit may be due to that. Really tiny.
On the plus side, bodacious coraline growth is a good thing.
On the minus side, I believe there are water quality issues for which we don't yet have test kits, or possibly even knowledge about the importance or toxicity of some specific compounds. On the plus side, my acro polyp extension seems to be returning some! I've been keeping acros for 10 years (my first coral was a purple tip acro) and yet I have not identified what miy issue may have been or why it may be diminishing. Happy it is though. I love shaggy acros.
