If the female has hosted an anemone, and they are getting along, it is almost certain to become a mated pair. Way to be patient Tim, most aren't and one usually dies.

Yeah I was hoping things would work out that way. Had my doubts for awhile after reading how Maroons are the hardest to work with.

I'm stoked that they may become a mated pair. How long before they start laying eggs if they do become a pair?

It all depends on how old they are. Once they are mature, and your tank stable they will lay eggs.

How old is mature for a Maroon?
