well, thanks to the Wife and kids who finish salting the water and started the washing of hte used sand I got, we got all the sand in and the rocks piled. Im actually pleased with teh looks of it. I wanted 2 islands, but due to the center drain for the closed loop, and the ammt of rock I had, this is what I have come up with.

I know its cloudy, but not too bad considering I did all this since about 7 pm. the sump is being drained as we speak so it can be dried out and a new 2" bulkhead installed. once that is dried in, we can turn on the pumps, and get it all rolling! YAY!!!

Life is good.:beer::beer::beer:

Bart, the Mrs put the rest of the salt in yesterday morning, then in the afternoon she had washed a 5 gallon bucket worth of sand. we washed it because it used to be live sand, but had sat out for a week. it was pretty stank nasty. he had dumped it in while I cooked dinner. washed another bucket and a half and we were done. since it was heavily washed, there was very little dust so I could mostly see what I was doing. I guess I got it all in there including the two fish by 9:45

Here are some other shots. ill be posting these in the build thread on 3reef. much smaller community there and it wont get too lost.

Relaxing after hard work.

Taken this morning with the morning light. Amazing how much that rock filters the water.

Hey Buddy, That's some nice looking sand! Sorry about the condition as even i did not know until i dumped the one bucket into the container about the smell. That most likely was all the good stuff dying off, Timing is everything a week ago you could have added your coral had the sand still been alive. Looks great none the less and I'll always have a sweet spot for our tank Hahaha.

Yea man, the sand turned out PERFECT as to the look I was wanting. I think the monster goby in there did some sifting in it last night as I saw some mouth prints, but alas, there is nothing in it. I didnt use the little bit of sand that came with the tank cause of the chiller issues and the water in the sump was drained last night. Im sure it had oil in it from the chiller leak.
