IT'S HERE!! Can you tell I'm excited?

Last night my dad went and picked up our TBS adventure! It took two weeks after order to get it, but it was totally worth it. We ordered 50lbs. of rock, and 2lbs. of sand.

Whole Tank Shot:

(no worrys, we WILL put more rock in there. I will never have one of my tanks look like that)

Just look at the life!:

Only thing I'm dissapointed in is no brain corals, but we did get ALOT of this stuff:

This is just one of 3 of the Mantis's that we got. BTW, Keith, do you still want one? And also, how do you go about catching them? This one was nice enough to come out while the rock was in the bag:

WOW!

Cool. Hey Richard did you tear down your 75 to do this or is this a new tank?

This is a new tank. We ordered this rock on the recommendation of another club member. The animals and organisms on the rock are phenomenal. We only ordered 50 pounds, thinking we'd mix it with some of the base rock we brought from Utah and supplement it some locally purchased rock. After seeing this stuff, though, I'm thinking we should have bought more. I'm sure there will be even more critters crawl out of the holes.

Where did you get that rock and what was the cost?

Dib's on one of the Mantis if your getting rid of them.:)

you can have one if keith doesn't want him.

The red one in my refugium died last night. I went to turn off the pumps to look down on the rock, and he fell out of the intake for the return pump.

Well, I took some more pics, so here we go:

The pics earlyer didn't have lights on it, so now the rock really pops.

One of the corals we got. Have no idea what kind:

We stumbled onto this T-5 lighting system at Reef Revolution for $30, but Jason says that only two lights work. Thats ok, it lights the tank more than enough:

MORE ROCK!!!

The red mantis that I had in my sump got sucked up into my return pump and died. It really ****ed me off :( so I put an extra guard on the overflow to the return from the fuge before I went diggin for another one of the guys in the main tank.

I figured I should get it out before I put more rock in, but I only got this one. ReeferKeith is now a proud owner of a mantis shrimp!

This is all the rock in the tank before aquascaping. I did all the aquascaping, and forgot to take a pic before I turned the lights out, so I'll get that one in the morning:

MORE HITCHIKERS!!

These guys are HUGE!

I have too many of these, and I think I'll be feeding a few hungry fish with them as I catch them

Thats all I have for now!

I thought it was pretty cool when I woke up this morning. I walked over to the tank and turned on the refugium light to take a pic of the red mantis, and he pulled a thing of caulerpa in front of him! Can you say camera shy?

Here is the tank after aquascaping. I'm not that happy with it. It looks more like a big pile of rocks than the aquascaping I like to see. Perhaps with corals in it, it will look better:

You can see the rockwork in our 72bow is alot more natural looking, and flows up. And yes we are live rock tycoons. Maybe we have too much, whos to say?

This morning I walked out to look at the 55, and I heard alot of clicking. So I went flashlight searching and didn't find anything. So I turned on the lights, and the clicking started up again. So I was able to narow down what rock it was coming from and lifted it up. I found the other mantis that had eluded me last night poking his head out of the bottom of the rock. So I put the rock back, filled a bucket with fresh water, and put the rock in it for like 5 seconds, and he flew out so fast it'd make your head spin. So now he's looking for a burrow with his new room mate in the fuge!

Well because the first one I caught died, I've only got two left. I'm going to keep one of them, and keith is going to pick up the other one later tonight. But with the freshwater dips, You wouldn't believe how many mantis came out that were like a quarter of an inch long. I can't really get rid of all of those, so when they get a little bigger, you can have all of them you want! And BTW grinch77, I got your pm, and thanks for those we appreciate it!
