Paul, explain the sump. I haven't seen anything like that before.

Holly cow, I apologize for all the spelling errors. It was late when I posted this thread.

Stephan / Joe...thxs

The chamber on the back left side is the 30 ga top off. There is a threaded nipple that the top off pump will be plumb to and feed right into the filter sock.

On the left side of the sump there is a blank that needs to be cut out for the filter sock and 2 phosban reactors. One will have phasban and the other crabon.

On the front of the sump is a race way 6" x 24" with a durso this is for frags

The main chamber in the sump is for the BK SM250 skimmer.

The diagonal plates you see are the bubble trap for the return there are 3 but you can only see 2.

The last chamber on the back right is for the reutrn and there is a threaded 2" nipple with a custom 90 on the inside for the intake. From the angle of the pictures you can not see this.

I had to maximize all the space under the tank so the offset area on the back right side of the sump is where the pump will go and allow the return to plump straight up to my tank and feed the
manifold.

He is

These tanks are awesome, the quality is exhalent and is above and beyond my expectations. Custom made , 3 panels of the real deal starfire glass. 4 2" drains custom drilled in the location per my request (center overflow) with black silicone. I priced this tank out on glass cages and it came out to be a 150.00 less plus frt.
The frt on my tank was FREE

no brainer :D

Nice work. Really like how the bottom of your stand is raised off of the ground, easier to clean up after flood/mold, all reef stand should be like that with the amount of flooding mess we made. Glad you guys were able to flip the tank to get it through the door.

Thank you, that was Bruce and Stephans Idea.

reefrubble: I am very excited and I hope it all works out to my expectation. I am even intergrading the actuators that you and and Mlamb have on your canopies.

these tanks are so well built, they remind me old the old(true oceanic tanks)pre allgless buyout.the glass work is top notch, the seams are almost perfect, just overall great built tanks.i imagine you will see alot of new build threads with these tanks as the stars.

All we did was drain the tank about 2/3rds down and put fruniture sliders on and slid the tank ovar with out a single pice of coral or LR moving or falling.:D

After draining the tank 2/3s, did you just use man power to lift if up to place the furniture sliders under it? I need new carpet and will need to move my 120. If this is all I need to do that would be great. Did it take all three of you to lift the tank to insert the slider?

Thanks,
Chris

it took all 3 of us to lift one corner while the other inserted the slider. Jenn picked up the large ones 9" x 6" at lowes $10.99 for a 4 pack.

Hawk'ster,

Thanks for the update. This tank is going to be amazing. Keep the updates and photos coming.

Cheers,
Chris

I've been wanting to set one of those marineland tanks up since they came out. I'm very interested to see how this progresses, especially since you are putting everything under the stand. That is the way I'd have to do it as well. Are you going to use some sort of overflow box in the middle?

He had 2 - 2in holes drilled in the back center on the bottom. If I remember right it will have a center overflow.

Stephan is sort of right. I had 4 2" holes drilled in the center. 2 for the overflow and 2 for the return.

The overflow box is being built.

That is what I was wondering, if you were doing a custom box. Guess I didn't express myself very well.:) What are your plans for flow in the tank? Tunzes, Vortechs? I'm jealous!
