where did you get the faucet valves?

Joe, I ordered them from Savko Plastic. Ace Hardware has them as well.

is that a piece of fabric or something over the eggcrate? To keep the sand from gettting in there I assume. Those are impressive skimmers, but man they are alot of money when new.

I didn't even know you could take it that far apart! It would have been much cleaner when I shipped it had I known the bottom came off. That skimmer rocks! It's worth every penny.

That is window screen over the plenum.

Thanks, the whole plenum thing makes more sense to me now. How deep of a sand bed are you going to run?

for the bottom layer I am using 2" of CaribSea Florida Crushed Coral and the top 2" layer will be CaribSea Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand.

scoobyrs25: Thank you for getting it to me all in one piece. The skimmer is awesome I can hardly wait to see how it preforms on a real bio load. If this skimmer is all Bubble King and the Bubble King Club claim it to be I will have no regrets at all shelling out that kind of cash. I figure I already went through well over a couple thousand bucks in the years with skimmers and pumps.
As TTrex94 says " take a step backwards and do it right" :)

CMcNeil it fits just fine:D

sorry boydx6

where's the update... I know more has been done

Kingnia thank you for the interest and I will try to post some udates tonight or tomorrow before MANCA

totally. My friend that got me into reefs told me to just skip all of the cheap skimmers and get a BK. Thousands later, he was right. I could of had two BKs by now. You will not be dissapointed.

Ok finally some up dates. Finshed the plumbing in the attic and tied into the clean out in the garage. All have to do is terminate into the RO/DI and make up water.

I also made a temporary canapy to test out the actuator. It worked pretty good but it has a 1.5" lean in the front.
