Its that season again. Check your temps!!

It's going to be really hot out west, most western states are in drought or hovering just above it.... :fish1:

Yup, I feel since we had a pretty strong winter this year people will let the spring sneak up on them. 90+ degree days are not that far away and every year we lose some great tanks to heat. Friends don't let friends use crappy heaters :)

It was pretty cool today here as well and you bring up a great point.

Check your equipment before it gets hot. All it takes is the first warm day.

Here in WI its still in the 30's :headwalls:

Seriously. I think we've only had a handful of days above "average" since early November. I have a feeling we're going to have a mild & short summer. :( Still, good practice to stay ahead of the game just in case as you never know with the weather around here (and I would welcome a hot summer with open arms!!)

I tend to keep it comfortable in my home. My tank in in my basement office. First go with a saltwater reef. I have a mag 24 pump but so far so good. I also have 2 300watt finnex titanium tubes connected to an stc1000 temp controller. So far I am happy with that. I do have one outlet dedicated to heating and one is for cooling if the temp goes above the set point.

I'm good

I'm good

2x250watt halides inside a canopy. No chiller. I'm good. That dip is from a water change. I pour new water into the same tiny chamber the temp probe is in. Not a real system wide temp drop

Thanks for the reminder. I just added a 400 watt halide to my 150, but it shouldn't be an issue with a six foot fan.
