Itty Bitty Frag Placement

So I've been bitten by the LPS bug after looking at some of the absolutely gorgeous corals posted by you guys (thanks alot, darnnit!)

I've been looking at some of the more colorful species available at the online stores and many seem to be tiny and mounted on square tiles or something. My questions is, where do you put these? Is it best to grow them out in a frag tank first, which I don't have yet, or just let them sit on the sand? Mount them on a rock and let them grow? Put them on some eggcrate on the sand until they get larger and then mount them?

I guess I'm just not sure what to do with a "square" coral. Thanks for any help!

Your could always cut away the tile so that it will fit better onto your rock
