Iwaki 40 rxt installation question

Is it necessary to install an Iwaki pump with the 43 degree offset that it is produced with or can I rotate the faceplate for a vertical outlet? I"m plumbing one on a 92 corner tank and space underneath is a premium.

You can rotate the head. The reason it's placed like that according to their engineers is that its most efficient.

Efficiency was my guess, thanks. I just wanted to be sure I didn't overlook something else.
