Iwaki or Bluline???

Going to be updating my ETSS skimmers pump . But need recommendation on which pump to get Iwaki 20RLT or the Blueline 20HD???

I've been running an Iwaki 70RLT on my ETSS 1000 for about 8 years now with no problems. I would recommend the Iwaki.

The larger bluelines are very loud compared to Iwakis.

I have Iwaki-100 on my ETS 1500. It is an old pump and still runs great. I would look into an equivalent pan-x pump. I'll probably replace my Iwaki with pax-x if my iwaki ever dies.

Iwaki is a great pump and they last for a very long time

I've read that the Blueline lines are quieter than Iwaki's. But I really don't know since I don't know anyone who has used both pumps...

Are you saying that a Pan-X pump is better than the Iwaki.I will look into the Pan-X..

I want to make the right choice and not regret my decision.

Go with the Iwaki. It is a well built pump.

That's what everyone was telling me also and that's why I went with a couple of Blue Lines (I believe Blue Lines & Pan World are the same pumps). As an example, I picked up a 40-HD to pump water back up from my basement sump to the 1st floor and the pump sounds like a plane propeller taking off. It's quite loud vs an Iwaki 40 that I use on another tank in the same basement fish room.

I have an Iwaki 40rlt and a Pan World 50px. The Iwaki is the American, not Japanese. I have to say that the Pan World is much more quiet than the Iwaki. Also I have ran this pump for four years and only cleaned it once, when I moved. My Iwaki had to have constant cleaning.

These are just my experiences.

reefknight is correct, the american made Iwakis are louder then the Japanese manufactured pumps but they are also about 40% more in cost.

Since I only have the Blue Line, I guess it's cost effective to try the Pan World if price is a concern. (also have Gen-X pump running and it is loud also)

My experience is the blue line's are a lot louder then the iwaki's (japanese)! I tried a blueline 40 a little over a year ago & it was horrible. I beleive iwaki's & bluelines were great pumps 10+yrs ago however today there are other much quieter & more effecient options. Sequence has some pressure rated pumps that are a LOT quieter.
