Iwaki pump problem

My iwaki 70 pump has started to shut off. It is random. Sometimes it shuts off for less than a second and sometimes for minutes. I took it apart and cleaned it. Had some hard crusties I thought might be the issue but after cleaning it still does it.
Any ideas? Can it be fixed?

HAd a 70 and ran for years without problems, surprised to hear of a problem. You could take it to a motor rebuild shop to get it checked.

I have come across this as well. It seemed to improve with swapping out the impeller. Sometimes there was mineral buildup, soaking in vinegar should remove that. The one that swapping fixed had excess wear on one of the impeller bearings. The company mentioned it could be from excess backpressure causing uneven wear or something along those lines. If you find anything else I'd be interested in hearing about it. The impellers are fairly expensive.

Well this really sucks. Found a local fish store that had a used pump and I put it in. Ran great for a few hours and now it is hot and cutting out.
*** I had this pump running for years and now I can't get one to run for a day.

I don't really want to buy a different pump because then I would have to re plumb it.
