Well as embarrassing as it is I thought I would share my pictures of how bad it got and also share any progress I make going forward. I decided on an acid soak for my rock and let me just say it works! Still amazed how some of the the green star polyps didnt come off the rock.

Man what a skimmer!!! This is the rock soaking in 9-1 water and acid for 35 minutes. Works pretty well, I cant understand why some pieces are shinny white and others still had a few spots of different "junk" on them.

The one and only positive to come out of this entire deal is ....I found my old buddy Mr. Mantis. For the last 3 years I have never had a clean up crew more than a week. He ate every crab, snail, shrimp, etc that I put into the tank. I am excited going forward to see what a clean up crew is like. He is in the sump if anyone wants him let me know.

Rock drying outside in the sun. My research said let it dry 48 hours, I think I will wait a little longer. I have plenty of work to do on the tank in the meantime.

As you know, I don't have any SPS, the best I can do is some hammer, frogspawn, candy cane, GSP, plate coral and the like that could fill some vacant spots until you build your SPS inventory back up, if you have any interest. I still have a few rics that I keep saying I am going to try and split. I can give that a go, and if successful, have a few of those to give you too. Let me know.

Thanks buddy!! Going to be a while before I am ready, I appreciate the offer and will be in touch.

I love how you have a cool water fountain aspect to your new build. That will be a nice stream of water from the locline down to the tank. You might get a little salt creep from the splashing though... ;)

so glad you decided to stay in the hobby bud.....took ya a little work to re-do everything but it will be well worth it.....sucks starting over though...i did it a few months back...but now its doing great..besides some green hair algae we talked about...guess ive gota get new RO filters......now i just gota try to stock back up on some corals for myself as well......

Well into the cycle. Readings are all good but I still have a little algae. The snails are working hard to get rid of it. I bought a "test" stick frag at Memfish yesterday and so far it looks good. Thanks for asking!

You going to the frag swap? I would like a few of your frags ,maybe a torch and duncan?

Excellent, by the time the frag swap comes you should be ready to rock.....

Yes, I plan on attending the frag swap. I will bring you a torch and duncan.
