i am back!

jamaica was greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat! i loved it.

but yes, i did snorkeling off shore on negril and i wasn't impressed. oh well, I can't complain.

i took some pics underwater - will post those soon

Sorry I was going to tell you that I have about 20 dives there and it is about the worst possable island to dive off of.

I absolutely love Jamaica! The diving is not the best but I have had awesome experiences there. I have been all over the island and have never felt threatened. Jamaicans are POOR and they are just trying to keep food on the table by selling stuff. As was said before it is a totally different place when you are not jumping off one of the many annoying cruise ships!

I have to give you that, I hate those big cruise ships and after going on 5 of them I would not go for free. We only go on WindStar cruises. 140 people.
As for Jamaica. It is all a matter of taste but after visiting almost all of the Caribbean Islands, I still feel it is the absolutely worst.

Yes, Jamaica is terrible diving. But the beaches at Negril are gorgeous. And on some of the beaches, the scenery is awesome.

I was in Ocho Rios about 3 weeks ago for my honeymoon. It was the last stop on our cruise. We stayed on Bamboo Beach all day. Live DJ, dancers, free food and free drinks for 39.00 a person. We sat under an almond tree 50 yards from the water. No vendors to deal with because it was private. I didnt even get in the water. It was no comparison to Cozumel or Grand Caymen.
