I heard Jake talk two years ago at IMAC. He has some great information on using flow to increase coral growth, and some interseting ways to doing it. As he stated them, if you want to increase coral growth, it is much cheaper to do it with increased flow than increased lighting.

I know he has spoken at lots of other clubs, frag swaps, and IMACs/MACNAs since I heard him.

I am really looking forward to having someone of his caliber as a SEASL speaker.

Jake, welcome to St. Louis!!!!

Jim Craig

Jim Craig has also informed me that he will be bringing some of his precious hard and soft corals for raffle as well!

Thanks Jim!!!!!

Tom

Chad from Gateway Aquatics just emailed me and is offering a 20% discount on livestock for all seasl members saturday only . Must have seasl card and for livestock only and not on any sales, just regular priced livestock. Gateway is very close to the Library and very much worth a visit!!

Located at: 4570 Telegraph Rd.
Saint Louis, MO

Thanks Chad!

Tom

Also, after the meeting everyone is welcome to go to lunch with Jake. I'm not at home and can't remember where they are going but will mention this at tomorrow's meeting.

Tom

Hehe, sure. I'll pay. Water and crackers for everyone,
Actually I can't make lunch, the cub scouts are letting the brownies race in the Pinewood Derby and Kendra and I have a car to race. :spin1:

I really wanted to go but my wife just got off a 12 hour shift at the hospital and she is crashed which leaves me with the 2 year old and 4 month old and I dont think they would be welcomed at the meeting. I thought about bringing them but..... nah. maybe next time.

Excellent meeting today!

Thanks to Jake for the great discussion and for putting up with all of our questions and to Jim for the frag raffle. I made out like a bandit with the raffle. My camera does not do them justice.
