Does any one have a Japanese spotted anthias (Odontanthias borbonius), also commonly called the yellow-spotted anthias and the checked swallowtail . I recently found one for sale at my LFS, usually they are in the LFS special do not sale (display)tanks lol. I was wondering if they are hardy and what foods do you feed them?

In my experience if you can get some that are eating well, and have been decompressed properly they're pretty hardy. I think meaty foods like mysis are best.

In my experience, live foods can be risky. There is a much greater chance of disease/pathogens. I'd recommend sticking to frozen or do something like Arctipods (not live, but gets a good feeding response in my experience).
If you must feed live, which I don't anticipate the need with Borbs, I'd stick to glass shrimp.

They do not, unfortunately. They are fairly social though, and groups of 2 or 3 (or more) seem to do well together.

Wow thats reefers. Namxas great pic. Mine hasnt colored up yet. What is the best way to get the food to them. Mine is hiding in the rocks since hes not used to my lights. I dont want him to starve to death. But he is not coming out to get the mysis i put in. He did eat blood worms in the LFS. Thanks

It's all about the flow
This is part of the reasion a qt is always a good idea. It can be very hard to get new fish on prepared foods in a display aquarium. You might want to start with some frozen or live worms and then go from there. GL
