Found my jawfish out in the open now more then usual and noticed lesions on his skin, can anyone help me identify what it is, what caused it and how can I help heal him? Thanks.

Got him last Tuesday. He's been doing good eating a lot and always hiding till yesterday, that's when I noticed that. The lfs I bought from said I should give it dr g's anti parasitic food, but I'm not sure if that's a good advice or a good up sell

Well, since it's a new fish that I am assuming was not quarantined it could be anything. Seeing how the skin looks more like an ulceration that sloughing I would lean towards a bacterial infection or a coral sting. You have some options: put the Jawfish in a QT and treat with antibiotics if it is an infection. 2 leave it in the main, feed well with vitamins and keep water clean in the event it is just a coral sting but be prepared to move it into a QT if it is an infection.
However, if it is a disease you will need to move all fish to a QT and treat.
How is the fish eating, breathing, swimming and overall behavior?

Breathing a little faster then normal, he ate yesterday but very little I put him in an isolated tank last night gonna try feeding him again when I get home. Might end up buying the dr g's stuff though for added safety. Also my quarantine tank has copper in it, would it be safe to treat him in that tank with any bacterial medicine on top of copper?

I was able to resize some other pics, hope they look better then the first. His fins are pretty bad too
