Jawbreaker color question

It's hard to say, I assume you're asking in regards to the for sale thread. The orange ones hes selling does have some red spots if you look closely and one has an orangish stripe. While its very possible they'll never get those large areas of super red striping or blotching, there's always the possibility that the offspring of the "dull" parent will as the genetics are there from the original parent. The red, green, orange, yellow, and sometimes even purple may develop quickly but I've also read that some people have had them for 6+ years before a color other than red yellow or orange showed up. So unless one with the large colored up margins is purchased there's no way of knowing if one of the mushrooms with less red will eventually color up. Truth be told, if those pesky bills didn't get in the way of my buying corals I already would've taken one of the "duller" ones

Thanks for the reply. It wasn't in regards to the FS thread as those have small amounts of red. There is someone local that has one FS but it's solid orange and I have no idea what the mother looks like. I didnt want to purchase if there's a chance to be stay solid orange

I would ask to see a pic of the mother. But if its a good price I'd take the gamble, still a very pretty mushroom even if it doesn't end up getting all of the other colors. But I'm a mushroom nut so I'm a tad biased in my remarks :)
