Jawfish and Diamond Goby Together?

Hey I was wondering if any one has had some experience with keeping a diamond goby and blue spotted jawfish together. Is this is an issue? I have always wanted a jawfish but was unsure of the compatability with my beloved diamond.

Thanks for the help!!!

I believe you may have problems with aggression, depending on the size of your tank. Jawfish are very active and in a smaller tank 75 gal or less they will compete for food. If you get a Jawfish, check him out carefully for any white patches, make sure he is a good fat speciman. Jawfish disease is very prevalent, with no cure and the ultimate death of the fish. You may want to reseach this as it is very commom among Jawfish And with any type of goby or jawfish they will always jump eventually. Good Luck.

Well I have a 300 gallon tank so I think space is fine and my tank is covered. I just didnt know if the diamond goby would actively seek out the jawfish to mess with him or vice versa.

I was just reading a bit about these fish, and was wondering the same thing. In the end, I remember somebody else that had both fish co-habiting. For a day or so I guess the two of them had a bit of a territorial spat, but after a day or so they went to their separate ends of the tank, and I don't believe that was a 300 gallon tank.

I would recommend this thread:

Definitely a cool fish...I decided against it due to the above story. I just wasn't certain that a 90 gallon would be big enough for the two of them. But, I think a 300 gallon would be unless you had other bottom dwellers that are also territorial.

I would try it out with a yellowheaded jawfish before trying with a BSJF and find a local hobbiest to buy it off you if it is a success/unsuccessful pairing.

Well I just might have to Gary worse comes to worse I have to chase the little bugger if there are any problems. I will keep you guys posted if I do. Probably will not be until next week at the earliest.
