Jawfish jumping possibilities?

Hello everyone, just wanting to know everyone's experience with jawfish and if they have jumped without a cover. I plan on doing a DIY mesh cover but I can only make one that covers 3/4 of the tank due to HOB equipment. Do you guys think that'd be enough to hinder/stop it from doing so when I get one?:fish1:

IME they are precise. Especially if you have HOB stuff they like to jump up the "waterfall" and onto the carpet.

The only thing that hinders the screen is the mini skimmer, everything else would be small enough to fit a screen over

my experience is you need a tight fitting screen top with no openings.
That one small opening you have he'll find his way out for sure.

I have some in qt right now, and I am really glad that I have everything sealed off. They absolutely would have jumped. Use a screen top and build it around the hob equipment. Then use the plastic knitting squares to fill in the holes

Yeah I suppose you're right, that could work. I better get measuring haha
