Jawfish only using one gill?

He was only been in the tank 3 days and just started coming out of his cave today and I noticed only his one gill is flaring out when he breathes like only the one side works and the other gill doesnt move Is this something that disease related or did he maybe scratch the other gill up digging his cave and is favoring it.

I guess it means a sign of flukes, or infection, or caused by a injury or parasite
